Concept & Synthesis Architecture
Responding to the choreographer’s desire to step away from orchestral warmth in pursuit of a stark, experimental sound, I built a minimalist electronic environment for the work. Pure sine waves establish a crisp, cold foundation, layered with granular synthesis and synthesized textures to give digital material a tangible, spatial presence.
Choreographic Dialogue & Momentum
Throughout the piece, sound and physical movement actively drive one another. The composition alternates between sudden oceanic ebbs of silence and chaotic, swirling sonic vortexes, creating intense dramatic friction between cold digital media and living, breathing bodies.
