DC (Yen Hao) Tu is a Taiwanese composer, sound designer and sonic artist. He also does post-production for films. He began as a drummer at the age of 12, which gives him great sensitivity in rhythms and timing. To compose music pieces, he then learned jazz harmony, classical music theory, and several instruments including guitar, bass, synth, and hand percussion instruments.
With great practice in film and image studying from his bachelor's degree in Radio & Television, DC not only composes music to support video but blends the music into it as a whole. He also believes that the simplicity of sound can move the deepest part of people's emotions, which shapes most of his works into minimalism style with texture. He has collaborated with artists around the world and produces music and sound designs for film, motion-graphic, animation, drama, dance, songs, etc.
He also studies in two master programs. One for the composition of electroacoustic music to exploring a new perspective of sound. And another one in Digital Content & Technologies to explore a new form in sonic art.
