TMOFA Xmas Motion Poster
Sonic Positioning & Seasonal Recognition
A sound design for the Taoyuan Museum of Fine Arts' Christmas motion greeting. With only seconds to work with, the sound had to register as "Christmas" almost instantly, so I drew on the melodic vocabulary audiences already associate with the season, using just a few notes to trigger that recognition immediately.
Timbre & Visual Correspondence
I chose Bells to anchor the palette due to it's bright metallic overtones are among the most direct sonic signifiers of Christmas. Sound events are pinned to the motion's transition points, giving every graphic shift an audible response and locking the score to O.OO's visual language.
Seamless Looping
Unlike a conventional motion graphic spot, a greeting like this plays on a continuous loop. The sound had to stay listenable across repeated plays and join end to end without a seam: I trimmed the reverb tail from the end of the file and crossfaded it into the opening, so the loop point becomes inaudible.
